But, in 1895, with the help of Petipa and Ivanov, this work took flight and became one of the most beloved ballets of all time. Certain to delight tutu fans everywhere! AGON PAS DE TROIS George Balanchine See Stravinsky’s complicated rhythms and often-challenging melodies, representing a transformation in ballet musical accompaniment, in this 1957 choreography. Balanchine made a statement of solidarity with the Civil Rights movement by casting Black dancer Arthur Mitchell as the primary principal. BOURNONVILLES SUITE August Bournonville Be transported to a world of characters painted by one of the most cherished choreographers in history. Bournonville’s light-hearted and entertaining work is an exercise in finding a new language with which to communicate. IU Opera and Ballet Theater is offering HHC students a special, reduced ticket price of $10 to selected performances of operas and recitals. The discount can be applied to one ticket per person. Vouchers for this performance are good for open seating in the second and third balconies.
Vouchers will be available starting two weeks before the performance up until 4:00p.m. Friday of the week of the performance at the Advising Reception Desk in the Hutton Honors College.
Vouchers are available for pick up weekdays, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 4 p.m. in the Hutton Honors College, Room 115 B. To purchase the special price ticket, take the voucher to the MAC Ticket Office during box office hours, 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., weekdays, to purchase your ticket(s). Vouchers can be used ONLY for the performance of the date on the voucher. PLEASE NOTE: THE VOUCHER DOES NOT GUARANTEE TICKET AVAILABILITY; IT MEANS YOU ARE ELIGIBLE TO PURCHASE A TICKET AT THE REDUCED PRICE OF $10.
Be sure you have your student ID with you when you arrive at the Box Office. Students are encouraged to go to the MAC Box Office well in advance of the performance they wish to attend to redeem the voucher.
