Schools, Degrees, and Majors
The Hutton Honors College admits students from the 14 different colleges and schools (entities such as the College of Arts + Sciences, the Kelley School of Business, the School of Education, etc.) that award undergraduate degrees on the IU Bloomington campus. Hutton students have wide-ranging academic interests and many decide to pursue double majors or even multiple degrees.
Each school may grant one or multiple undergraduate degrees. For instance, the Kelley School of Business offers one primary undergrad degree, the Bachelor of Science in Business (B.S.B.). The O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, on the other hand, has multiple undergraduate degrees, such as the Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs (B.S.P.A.), the Bachelor of Science in Arts Management (B.S.A.M.), etc.
Most degrees offer multiple majors. For example, the Bachelor of Music (B.M.) degree from the Jacobs School of Music includes majors in Composition, Viola, Piano, etc. The Bachelor of Arts from the College of Arts + Sciences can be earned with a major in Physics or History or Philosophy or dozens of other options. In general, it's easier (more straightforward, requiring less time and fewer credits) to double major than to complete two degrees, but that doesn't mean you should shy away from the "dual degree" option if that's what you really want to do!
