The Hutton Honors College is highly selective, accepting less than 10% of each entering class.
Admission to the Hutton Hutton Honors College (HHC) is by application only.
Students applying via the common application must check the box stating they wish to apply to the HHC. If a student selects yes, the Hutton Honors College Application will be available in their application status portal.
Students applying through Apply IU will automatically receive the Hutton Honors College Application in their application status portal.
Successful applicants will have a strong GPA and transcript as well as a demonstrated aptitude for interdisciplinary learning.
Deadlines:
To be considered for the Hutton Honors College and an HHC Scholarship:
- Applicants must complete their IU application by November 1, 2025
- Students must complete the Hutton Honors College application by midnight January 14, 2026
To be considered for the Hutton Honors College (no scholarship consideration):
- Applicants must submit their completed application to IU by February 1, 2026
- Applicants must submit their completed HHC application by midnight March 2, 2026
Notification of Application Status:
All applicants will be notified of their admission status on or before April 1, 2026 via email (please check your spam folder regularly). Successful applicants will be notified in their application status portal by no later than April 1, 2026.
If you are admitted to the Hutton Honors College:
- You must accept your position in the Hutton Honors College online when you register for New Student Orientation.
- You will be required to graduate with Honors from IU and are highly encouraged to complete the Hutton Honors Notation.
