Current & Transfer Students

Admission for Current and Transfer Students

Current first-year students and transfer students may apply to the Hutton Honors College at the end of the academic year.

Applicants must have completed either 14 (if they have been at IU for only one semester) or 26 (two semesters) graded academic credit hours with a GPA of 3.8 or higher. Please note: courses taken Pass/Fail, non-academic courses, and courses taken elsewhere (including transferred credit) do not count toward the credit hours with a 3.8 GPA. Students with three or more semesters at IUB are not eligible to apply.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to pursue the Hutton Honors Notation, which requires two gateway courses, an external minor (or four seminars offered by the Hutton Honors College), and a thesis. Applicants whose first-year record shows a commitment to interdisciplinarity and a genuine excitement about ideas may have a stronger chance of being admitted.

We are not currently accepting applications.  We will be accepting applications again once spring-semester grades have been fully recorded. Questions may be addressed to Dr. Laura Felicetti, Director of Admissions lfelicet@iu.edu.
