HHC Scholarship

Hutton Honors College Scholarship

If you applied to IU Bloomington by November 1 and qualify for direct admission to join our program you will also be eligible to apply for the Hutton Honors College Scholarship.

Application

You will receive an email from the Office of Admissions with details about your eligibility and the Selective Scholarship Application (SSA). Follow the directions in this message to set up your IU account and view the programs and scholarships available to you. If you have any questions while filling out the SSA, please email iussa@indiana.edu for assistance.

Complete your SSA and submit your letters of recommendation as early as possible in order to receive priority scholarship consideration from the Hutton Honors College.

Selection

A committee of Honors College faculty carefully reads each application and will examine the quality of your high school program, the courses you have taken, the quality of your writing, and the nature of your extracurricular activities.

Awards range from $1,000 to $4,000 per year and are renewable for four years.

Approximately 1 in 4 applicants receive a scholarship offer.

Scholarship notifications will be e-mailed to all applicants by April 1st.

Important information for funding and scholarship applicants

If you filed the FAFSA and are receiving financial aid (for example: Direct Loans, Pell Promise grants, 21st Century Scholars Covenant), and you receive one of the Hutton Honors College's grants or scholarships, your award from the Hutton Honors College may not be paid-out in the form of cash funds (i.e., as money paid into your Bursar account), but instead, may be used by IU's Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA) to reduce your student/parent loan burden or reduce your federal/state grant by the amount awarded to you by the HHC.

To learn how HHC funding may impact your financial aid, please contact OSFA at scu@indiana.edu. Also, please refer to OSFA for information regarding study abroad and financial aid.
